Brilliant Imagery

The chords are beautiful. All of your songs are emotional, and this one's so forlorn and melancholy. I think it fits your description perfectly. I like where this is going. I can feel a trumpet solo coming on lol. Keep up the good work!

AshleyAlyse responds:

Thank you kindly!! I shall try to finish this soon. :)

Cool song

The beat is my favorite part. That bass synth is sweet! I like the eastern strings too. The voice sounds too wet at times. It might be easier to understand with less of the effect you used. It kind of reminds of The 6th Gate, but to compare this to that turd of a song would be a travesty. This song is much better.

JohnnyFrizz responds:

"The voice sounds too wet" well actually that is kinda the point man :P

But nevertheless thanks a lot for the review and for the compliments lol

Wonderful and Mysterious

This song is beautiful and heartfelt. I love music that inspires imagery. While listening to this song, I can see exactly what you described. It's like the music tells the story by itself. There has got to be an animator on here that can use this. You should get in touch with SilverStitch if he makes another sequel for the Colour My series. This type of song would be perfect for that.

corbetweller responds:

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll definitely send SilverStitch a PM. I'm very glad the piece speaks to you, as it has for me. Take care!

Jolly Good!

Upon hearing this I grew a long orange beard, lept from my chair, and danced a jig. Have you studied Irish music before? This song has that traditional Irish folk feel. The percussion is perfectly light and bouncy, and I like the instrumentation.

Excellent Work

I don't like to write a review unless it's something worth writing about, and this song is definitely worth it. It's aptly named; I like how the song changes from intense to calm, but maintains the epic feel the whole time. I love how you aided the melody with the choir, but I think it could have used more variation the second time that section was played, (I mean variation in the instrumentation, not the melody). The tempo changes were smooth, and the dynamics were great. As for the realistic sound that you're going for, I thought it was pretty accurate. Are you using symphonic orchestra gold? Maybe try Hollywood Strings. I can't vouch for the quality, but it might be closer to what you want, (if you can cough up the cash).

On a separate note, I listened to all the songs for the Orchestral NAC, and I hope this one wins, not only because it's my favorite, but because I thought it was composed well too. Good luck, and I hope you make more classical songs like this in the future.

Brain melting

This song should come with a disclaimer that listening to it repeatedly at high volumes can result in brain melting. Seriously, when Chuck Norris needs a beat, he listens to this song. The transition around 1:22 can catch you off guard if you're not paying attention, but it really doesn't affect the quality much because it picks up nicely again. I'll definitely have this on my playlist for my next rave party.

One of the best

This song is one of the best on Newgrounds in my opinion. It's so moving, and even magical. Music of this caliber inspires me to do better with my music. It really belongs in a movie--like a love story. It reminds me of something that Rachel Portman would write. Have you thought about submitting it anywhere? It's like you said, if the idea hits you hard, and you have to finish it as soon as possible, you know it's going to be good. This sets the bar high. Well done.

Underrated

The first time I heard this, its score was pretty low. I voted to correct the injustice. This is a cool song, and one of my favorites from the Halloween 2010 collection so far. Good luck with it! I've got to get off my butt and submit something too. I especially like the first half of this. The build from 0:29 is chilling. The second half is smoother, but I thought the melody was slightly too loud. Overall: good stuff here.

RyeGuyHead responds:

Well, its because people are envious and they keep giving me zeros...

That's fine though, I wouldn't mind dying in a fire

Ideal for Scary Movies

This is the type of song I would expect to hear at the beginning of a horror film, therefore it's perfect for Madness Day. It's the right length to be used like that. I think it's very creative. The EQ isn't actually that bad, in fact it's pretty good for my speakers. It would be a shame if this weren't used in a flash.

Step responds:

Thanks for the support man. I'm really glad it sounds like something you might hear in a Madness Flash, since that was my main focus in this track.

I doubt this'll be used in a flash because of the quiet intro, but like I said in the author's comments, I'd be glad to loop it if people want it for their flash.

Thanks again for the review!

EDIT: I've got to say that I've just heard some of your songs. Really good stuff, keep up the great work!

Awesome

I just stumbled onto this song and was really impressed. It's catchy. I can definitely picture it on the radio, or on my ipod. My only gripe is that I wish it had more bass. The vocals are sweet. Great song!

ERAmatica responds:

Hey thanks a lot for the review!!! Im really glad you liked it! Please tell others of my music so hopefully I can eventually make my way to the radio, at least with my beats anyway! As for the bass, if you have a car with subs, trust me, there is plenty of bass :P anyway thanks again for the review and your support!!
